What is Myotherapy?

Myotherapy is a manual therapy that aims at treating and managing soft tissues injuries using wide range of techniques. It is an advanced form of treatment program that always combines remedial massage therapy with other more advanced soft tissues therapy techniques such as Dry Needling, Trigger Point Therapy, Active Release Therapy and other advance techniques along with corrective exercises to address issues in pain relief, muscle conditioning, restoring mobility, as well as strengthening.  It is a form of therapy that is very MUSCLE-oriented (“Myo-” stands for Muscle)

A myotherapist uses their supporting knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, pathology, clients’ lifestyle and history to understand the relationships between the musculoskeletal structures and the cause of pain.

Myotherapy involves assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction.  It can be your first point of contact as we are qualified to assess your conditions and refer you to the appropriate professionals such as a physiotherapist or a sports scientist according to your condition’s severity.  There are cases which are contra-indicated with myotherapy treatment so please give us a call for further enquiry.

An myotherapy appointment begins with an initial assessment and consultation on your condition, which allows us to tailor a specific treatment to suit your needs.  A post-treatment assessment will determine if any of the following treatments will be necessary.
